As above, so below. Kundalini means 'coiled snake', a form of divine feminine energy (or Shakti) believed to be located at the base of the spine.
As we intentionally breathe, we can move this energy upward to awaken consciousness and gain clarity through grounding in our own body through the movement of air.
The snake is a symbol of transformation and rebirth, force or power associated with the divine feminine or the formless aspect of the Goddess. The snake is always grounded, it’s limber, flexible and her power lies in between each vertebrae, where there is empty space.
Emptiness is where we make room to create.
Therefore we use the breath is where we consciously make space by exhale and take up space by inhaling, in a conscious movement of realizing the power in creating space to create or taking up space as the creation.
That is why one of the teachings of these totems of adornment lie in cultivating Empty Presence as source of life force and conscious choice.
